I've somehow become obsessed with Gadget. I seriously don't know why as I never even watched the Rescue Rangers when it was aired in my country in the early 90's. I do remember my little sister watching it and remeber also the theme song, but at that time I was already bit too old to watch little kids' cartoon show.
Anyways, this started when I was one day randomly browsing Encyclopedia Dramatica and stumbled upon article about "Rangephiles". From there I found a link to some looong thread on "Acorn Cafe" where they were discussing about how they loved Gadget. Just to kill time I browsed through it, chuckling myself at their silly little obsession. People were also posting some fanart pics. Well, yeah... there's fanart about every damm tv show character on this planet... big deal.
Then I saw this picture (I suppose the artist is "Pater Falsi"). There she is, staring directly at me, with slightly confused look on her face. For a very short time I became confused also.. I felt like something... kinda "broke" inside me. It was very weird feeling. Well, I shrugged it off and went to do other things. But next day after I returned to home from work, I found myself thinking about her. Seriously, a cartoon character?! And I wanted to see more!
So I started searching more stuff about her. There's lots of fanart scattered around internet. I don't know what is it about her that makes me behave like this... Is it Gadget's personality? I've always liked nerdy girls and she is almost like "perfect woman" (yeah, I know, it's only a cartoon character!). Sooo.. for several months this obsession has been (almost) daily part of my routines. I found this site and zumki.ru. You got great stuff :) At some point I was even considering to start learning russian to understand what people are conversing at this site.
Pathetic? Yeah, maybe. But I'm more worried about my mental health. Suddenness and intensity of this doesn't feel quite normal. I'm not kidding. I really am bit scared how she "dominates" my mind now and how quickly it got me. I definitely don't want to become a second Ray Jones.
